MADISON, Wis. (WEAU) – A Price County man is accused of defrauding the federal crop insurance program.
According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, 52-year-old Lance Meier of Ogema, Wis. is charged with defrauding the federal crop insurance program.
The indictment alleges that on Sept. 30, 2019, Meier submitted a fraudulent bank statement to the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation in connection with reinstating his crop insurance, according to the press release.
The press release says Meier could face up to 30 years in prison if he is convicted.
