EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – “Investing in our young people because they are what our world will become.” Wise words from Meadowview Elementary school third grade teacher Adam Leicht and why he was chosen by his peers as the 2025 Golden Apple award winner.
“It’s an amazing place to work, always looking for new ways to have a high impact on their kids,” says Leicht.
“A lot of families know of him, and know of his work. His reputation really speaks for itself,” adds Scott Moore, Meadowview Elementary principal. “Watching him teach is really a magical thing because he just connects and it’s good to see.”
“It’s awesome having the students out there cheering, and to be able to celebrate it with my class as well. And so it was unbelievable,” says Leicht.
“They all know Mr. Leicht and they know he’s a positive guy, he’s always happy, always smiling,” says Moore. “If something is going on in Adam’s room, I know it’s going to be handled and I don’t have to worry about it.”
“I wanted to find myself in a position where I was going to have an impact on other people’s lives and on their futures,” adds Leicht. “I’ve had the opportunity to be part of so many teams, get to talk about ideas, share ideas across the board, it’s an amazing place to be.”
Congratulations again to Adam! Mr. Leicht and Meadowview Elementary school will both receive $500 grants from the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation and their generous sponsors.
