PRIMGHAR, Iowa — A Hartley, Iowa, couple has been charged with filing fraudulent insurance documents.
Jeremy and Alicia Poduska each face a single count of insurance fraud, a Class D felony. Both were arrested Oct. 8, posted bond and were released from custody.
The arrests stem from an Iowa Insurance Fraud Bureau investigation that alleges Jeremy Poduska, 34, submitted a falsified invoice claiming rental equipment charges totaling $13,685 to his insurance company on July, 21, 2024, in an attempt to obtain payment.
According to court documents, the invoice contained a fictitious company name and falsely identified Alicia Poduska, 34, who is an insurance adjuster, as the authorized contact person. Alicia Poduska’s name and phone number were included on the invoice in an effort to make the document appear legitimate.
