A Boston lawyer was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for stealing more than $2 million from two clients, the US Attorney’s office said.
Patrick J. Dolan, 60, of North Attleboro and Haverhill, will serve 39 months in prison, followed by two years of supervised release, prosecutors said.
Dolan was also ordered to pay about $2 million in restitution and an additional $2 million judgment, prosecutors said.
In October, Dolan pleaded guilty to four counts of wire fraud, prosecutors said. Dolan was charged in July.
Between November 2018 and November 2024, Dolan devised a scheme to defraud his clients and other individuals who entrusted Dolan to maintain funds in accounts he controlled for their benefit, prosecutors said.
Dolan stole more than $2 million he was holding in escrow for a family trust lawsuit in which Dolan represented one of the parties, prosecutors said.

He used the stolen money for his family and personal expenses, including mortgage payments, tuition, and student loans, prosecutors said.
Dolan also stole at least $87,500 from a supplemental needs trust he established for another client, prosecutors said. He allegedly used the money to make a down payment for a home in Haverhill, where Dolan subsequently lived with his family.
Dolan also made false statements to his clients and others regarding the stolen funds, falsified bank statements, and falsified accounting records, prosecutors said.
