Four Witnesses, No Bag of Cash on Day Six of Tom Goldstein Trial

A New York lawyer whose firm made a $500,000 “investment” in Tom Goldstein’s poker matches against real estate mogul Bob Safai in 2017 testified on behalf of the government at Goldstein’s tax evasion and false statements trial Wednesday.
I thought it would be a “fun, interesting investment,” Paul Napoli of Napoli Shkolnik PLLC told the jury.
Goldstein didn’t say anything about having lost money to Safai when he pitched the investment, Napoli said. As far as he knew, Goldstien had made “tens of millions” playing high-stakes poker.
