YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WJW) – A $5 scratch-off ticket purchased in Northeast Ohio turned out to be a very worthwhile investment for one lucky Ohio Lottery player.
According to press release, the ticket sold at a BP gas station on Canfield-Niles Road in Youngstown won a top prize of $300,000. Lottery officials said, after taxes the winner will take home about $216,000.
The scratch-off ticket was a Special Edition Cashword. The Ohio Lottery reports that as of Jan. 7 three of the game’s top prizes are still available to be won. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 4.11 with the smallest prize being $5.
