The companies will collaborate on silicon photonics and transform telecom networks into AI systems for 5G and 6G. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang cited surging AI demand and the push for specialized factories. Meanwhile, Marvell CEO Matt Murphy highlighted the role of high-speed connectivity and optics in scaling AI. NVLink Fusion supports mixed AI setups fully compatible with Nvidia’s tech stack.
Analysts’ Views on the Deal
Bank of America Securities analyst Vivek Arya raised his MRVL price target from $110 to $125, implying 26.2% upside potential. He calls it a strategic win for Marvell since it cements its neutral role in connectivity across PCIe, CXL, NVLink, UALink, and Ethernet standards. It validates scale-up switches, enables full AI rack computing via NVLink, and deepens Nvidia ties.
RBC Capital analyst Srini Pajjuri reiterated his Buy rating and $115 price target, suggesting 16.1% upside. He says the investment is good news as it locks in Marvell’s top spot in fast optical connections for big data centers and expansions. It also boosts Marvell’s custom chip (XPU) business and opens new markets via NVLink Fusion, telecom, and edge computing. The stock investment was unexpected, but Pajjuri notes it proves Marvell leads in connectivity and custom chips.
Meanwhile, Stifel Nicolaus analyst Tore Svanberg stated that the closer tie-up is great for Marvell’s networking and custom chip businesses. It proves their tech works well and opens bigger markets. Their solutions will blend easily with standard chips and networks to build mixed computing setups in data centers and edge locations.
Marvell is now a key player in Nvidia’s AI world, giving it steady long-term sales in custom chips and optics. Nvidia gets a trusted, high-speed partner to grow its AI factories for more customer needs and global networks.
