Meta, the company formerly known as Facebook, has dissolved its Responsible AI (RAI) team, which was tasked with ensuring the ethical and safe use of artificial intelligence across its products and platforms. The Information reported this development today, based on an internal post it accessed.
Responsible AI and layoffs
The report said that most of the RAI team members have been shifted to the company’s generative AI product team, which works on creating artificial content such as text and images using machine learning. Some others have been assigned to the company’s AI infrastructure team, which handles the technical aspects of AI development and deployment.
