I want to thank the Press for another excellent article concerning community information presentations being made at the monthly meetings of the Four Counties Natural Resource Committee (Benewah, Kootenai, Latah, Shoshone), 4Cs, at the Iron Horse Bar and Grill in CDA. We meet every first Wednesday of the month at noon except July and August. The 4Cs has been in existence for over 50 years and includes over 100 voluntary members representing the natural resource management state and federal agencies, the Congressional Delegation, county and city governments, business organizations, environmental groups, professional consultants, the University of Idaho, the CDA Tribe and private citizens. It is a great voluntary group where folks with differing natural resource responsibilities and positions get together to discuss and visit about how best to work for public health, resource use and protection and economic development in the four counties.
Just a couple of items, we would appreciate it if the articles identified the 4Cs as the sponsoring organization for the presentations so folks know we exist. Also, in the latest article the information concerning members of the Restoration Partnership did not include the U.S. Forest Service as a member. The Restoration Partnership activities are a part of the Superfund Action in the CDA Basin. The Superfund action basically has two main objectives, clean up the contamination and restore the natural environment both being implemented under the same federal law.
If readers are interested in natural resource management in the four counties, they can send their email address to me [email protected] and I will add them to our Address Book. Thanks!
