The viral trend of women seeking men in finance—popularized by a wave of TikTok creators last summer—may not be as dominant as social media suggests.
According to a new survey by Talker Research commissioned by The League, while finance remains a sought-after career in a partner, it’s far from the top of the list. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 single men and 1,000 single women, set out to determine the most dateable professions of 2025—and the results might surprise you.

Despite the buzz around finance bros, only 18 percent of women said they were actively looking for a partner with a job in finance, tying it with those seeking an artist to date. In fact, being an entrepreneur ranked higher, with 21 percent of women preferring a partner who runs their own business. The findings suggest that while financial stability is attractive, other factors—like ambition and creativity—are just as, if not more, desirable.
And at the top of the career dating hierarchy? Healthcare workers, at 29 percent.
