Richland County man arrested, charged on multiple counts of insurance fraud

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged a man on multiple counts of insurance fraud that occurred in late 2022.
On Monday, SLED announced the arrest of Christopher Amos Gadson, 34, with six counts of Fraudulent Insurance Application by Agent.
Arrest warrants show Gadson, while operating as an insurance agent in Lexington County, knowingly presented or caused to be presented to John Hancock Insurance applications for life insurance with misleading material information with intent to defraud the company of undeserved commission payments.
According to SLED, Gadson committed these acts multiple times between August and September of 2022,
The SLED investigation was requested by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
Gadson was booked in the Lexington County Detention Center. This case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
