Boeing Will Spend $1 Billion To Expand 787 Facility In South Carolina

On 12 December 2024, Reuters reported that Boeing is set to invest $1 billion to expand its operations at its South Carolina facility, which will boost the production of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. This comes soon after Boeing filed permit applications to double its production of the Dreamliner in South Carolina . Meanwhile, the massive worker strike earlier this autumn halted production of all of Boeing’s airliners, except for Dreamliners. In October 2024, Boeing was only able to deliver a total of 14 airplanes in the wake of the strike.
Boeing to invest a billion in ramping up Dreamliner production
On Thursday, Boeing announced it plans to spend $1 billion to expand operations in Charleston County, where it builds the Boeing 787 Dreamliner series of widebody passenger jets.
