Florida man allegedly drugged, robbed two men in Fairview Township

A Florida man faces aggravated assault and robbery charges after he allegedly drugged two men and stole their vehicle and credit cards in Fairview Township.
Justin Lee Bartlett, 36, Chipley, Florida placed in York County Prison Tuesday after an investigation into the theft of the vehicle that occurred Jan. 30 at a Super 8 Motel in the 100 block of Beacon Hill Boulevard in Fairview Township.
According to court documents, the motel manager found the two men unresponsive in one of the rooms and called police. Both men were taken to UPMC Harrisburg Hospital.
One of the men involved had to have a tracheotomy because it was found that his airway had been damaged, investigators said in court records. Police did not say how the man’s airway had become damaged.
Court records show that a search of the room by Fairview Township Police where the men were staying found no cars keys, wallets or cellphones.
During an interview with police, one of the men using the vehicle’s tracking device found it had been driven to Cleveland, Tennessee. In tracking the credit and debit cards taken during the alleged robbery, it was found that more than $2,000 in purchases or attempted purchases were recorded.

Police say the men had contacted a person named “Blaze”, later identified as Bartlett, through the dating app Grindr about getting some construction work done at their home in Mount Gretna. One of the men had picked up Blaze at a Red Roof Inn in Harrisburg because he had no transportation. Blaze told the man as they were traveling that he needed to pick up a saw from a friend at the Super 8 Motel.
Eventually, Blaze and the other two men were all together at the Super 8 motel. Police say that Blaze offered the two men shots of alcohol. One of the men started to vomit and the other passed out after consuming the shots.
Police were able to identify Bartlett as a suspect from surveillance footage at a Dick’s Sporting Goods in Bristol, Tenn., after one of the stolen debit cards was declined. According to court records, police eventually found the Volvo SUV at a home in the 100 block of Nantahala Drive SE in Cleveland, Tennessee. The owners of the SUV were able to disable the vehicle remotely to keep Bartlett from leaving that location, and deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office were able to locate Bartlett and arrest him.
In addition to the robbery and aggravated assault counts, Bartlett also faces felony theft and access device fraud charges related to the use of the debit card.
Bartlett’s bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for March 17.
