HBO series set in the world of high finance to end with upcoming fifth season

The critically acclaimed drama “Industry” will end with a fifth season, HBO and BBC announced.
The renewal was announced as the show’s fourth season concluded Sunday night on HBO. The eight-episode season follows Harper, played by Myha’la, and Yasmin, played by Marisa Abela, as they navigate a high-stakes, globetrotting cat-and-mouse game involving a new fintech company entering London’s financial scene, according to Variety.
The season’s storyline also found Yasmin romantically involved with the company’s founder, Sir Henry Muck, played by “Game of Thrones’” Kit Harington, while Harper grows entangled with Whitney Halberstram, an enigmatic executive portrayed by Max Minghella
Mickey Down and Konrad Kay created the series and serve as writers and executive producers. Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther and Ryan Rasmussen executive produce for Bad Wolf, while Kathleen McCaffrey produces for Little Gems and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC.
“We’re privileged to have joined the small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO,” Down and Kay said in a statement.
“This March marks a decade since we first began to conceive of the world of ‘Industry’ and it exists because of the unwavering faith and vision of our partners and former partners at HBO — Casey, Frannie, Kara, Cela, Sam, Kathleen, and Max. Without Jane Tranter’s imagination and belief, the show would simply be a dead idea in a drawer somewhere. She — alongside her partners at Bad Wolf — has been our guiding light and fiercest champion. We’d also like to thank the BBC for their partnership.”
The series has garnered critical acclaim for its portrayal of young professionals navigating London’s high-pressure finance world.
