Your phone can carry everything from your credit cards to your boarding pass — and in Virginia, now it can digitally carry your ID.
Virginia Mobile ID is a digital option of a state-issued driver’s license or identification card, available as a free app on the App Store and Google Play. Virginians can present this to TSA checkpoints at more than 250 airports, Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers, and select Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Authority stores in the Richmond area. Virginia State Police and select local law enforcement in the state also accept the Mobile ID.
