HARARE, Nov 27 (Reuters) – Zimbabwe forecast modest economic growth for 2026 compared to this year in a budget presented by Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube on Thursday, as the nation seeks to recover from a severe drought and currency volatility.
Like other Southern African nations, Zimbabwe’s economy has been hit by an El Nino-induced drought, which curbed food production and hydroelectric power supply, dragging growth to 2% in 2024.

Ncube told lawmakers in parliament that the rebound in agriculture and mining would boost economic growth to 6.6% this year, above an earlier forecast of 6%.
He projected modest growth of 5% next year, tempered by external challenges.
