Ohio bill would require insurers to cover menopause treatment

Women enduring hot flashes, mood swings and night sweats from menopause shouldn’t be forced to spend hundreds of dollars on treatment not covered by health insurance, two Democratic Ohio lawmakers say.
Reps. Ashley Bryant Bailey, D-Cincinnati, and Anita Somani, D-Dublin, introduced a new bill on March 17 that would require Ohio insurance companies to cover hormone replacement therapy to treat perimenopause and menopause.
