City of Camden sets new guidelines for golf cart use on public roads

Golf carts may be operated from daylight hours through 11:00 p.m.
Golf carts must have working headlights, taillights, and turn signals
Drivers must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid driver’s license
Golf carts must be registered, permitted, and insured through the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles
Proof of registration and insurance must be carried while operating the golf cart
Children under the age of 12 must wear a seat belt when riding on public streets or highways
Golf carts may only operate on roads with posted speed limits of 35 mph or less
Golf carts must remain within four miles of the registered address (or gated community entrance, if applicable)
