A woman was arrested in connection with the death of her one-year-old son, who fell out of her moving pickup truck and was killed at a gas station near the Amazon fulfillment center last month.
Elizabeth Aguilar, 22, is charged with negligent homicide, failure to use a child-passenger restraint system and lack of insurance and proper registration according to Baton Rouge Police.
Her son, Nicholas Aguilar, was unrestrained at the time of the accident.
The boy was killed on February 20 at a Cortana Place gas station. Police said a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck was making a turn in the parking lot of the station, when the rear passenger door opened and Nicholas tumbled out of the vehicle. After falling onto the concrete, Nicholas was run over by the vehicle’s rear passenger-side tire, police said.
